About

This website has been created by me for several reasons.  Just to see if I could do it – both technically and as a consistent creative outlet.  Also as as a way of storing family memories.  It has become apparent that I know little of my past, partly down to family breakup, but mainly because of apathy.  I wish to rectify this as after becoming a father I have discovered how much I want my sons to know, not only about immediate past but also about my relatives that they may not remember or may not have met.

The site name:  This is inspired by a throw away comment made by my partner Jenny regarding an item reported on the local news “That’s a sheep caught in barbed wire fence story”.  This tickled me and has stuck with me ever since.  The truth is, to many, this site may seem like one of those stories – but I find as I get older I am interested, and enjoy, these stories more than the main headlines which, for the most part blur into one.

Update 21/01/2012:

I have decided to limit some of the detail recorded on this blog to just subscribers.

This is due to the sensitive nature of some of the material I have written and it is my wish not to offend or jeopardize anyone’s integrity or safety (I am aware that I am writing about not only myself but other people as well).  For the most part I have tried to keep the blog ‘light-hearted’ but this is not always the case as my main goal is to be honest and hopefully to provide an accurate historical account.

Should you wish to become a subscriber then please contact me using the Subscription Page: http://sheepcaught.co.uk/subscription

  1. I like you am interested in finding out about not only my family but about myself through my journey of self discovery so hopefully I can share some of my memories with you on your quest to find information on your family. Inshalla this is a journey we can take together.
